Cardboard Posters specializes in some of the coolest posters you’ll find anywhere! “We have over 500 unique posters covering many different subjects, but most of them are music related and many are actual reproductions used by the bands or promoters themselves back in the day”, according to Wild Bill Thorton. “Our posters are printed on the oldest letterset press in America”. The press is over 100 years old, and each poster is individually printed on a letterpress, just like it was printed way back when! You’ll find classic rock posters, movie posters, political posters, sporting posters and novelty posters. Everything from Kennedy to Marijuana, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Larry Holmes, Muhammad Ali, Elvis, The Doors and lots more! All posters are 14” x 22” and printed on heavy cardboard stock. “Our warehouse is fully stocked and we ship within 72 hours”. These posters are great for your recreation room in your house, your basement, or your garage. They are also great for wall hangings in your business. “Many bars, restaurants and even McDonalds use our posters”. They are nostalgic and have a way of bringing back great memories. Perhaps you have attended some of the festivals or concerts depicted on the posters. Perhaps you were at the sporting event or stadium, or perhaps your dad was there. Remember Woodstock? How about Watkins Glen? I was at both, and recently I met one of the guys who jumped out of an airplane at Watkins Glen back in 1973. He had to have one of our posters, because it brought him back in time. He actually had a great story to tell. He jumped out of a plane over Watkins Glen with a couple of his buddies. They had flares attached to there feet, and they were jumping into this great music festival. It didn’t go so well for one of the other jumpers who had on a parachute, and also had a small explosive he intended to ignite and make some noise while coming in for a landing. Unfortunately, the explosive when off near his face and he came in for a landing DOA. The local radio station picked up the story and announced the name of the wrong person they thought was the guy who had perished. The guy they announced went home to see cars parked up and down the street at his parent’s house. When he walked in the door, the mother of the person who had actually perished took one look at her son’s friend and passed out, knowing that it was her son who had actually perished. I was 16 when my friends dragged me to Woodstock. It was a bit overwhelming for me as that was the first music festival I had ever attended. It was also the first time I had experienced marijuana. I probably smoked what I thought was marijuana about ten times before it actually had any effect on me. To this day I’m not sure if it was because I may have been smoking hemp grade pot or because it took several tries to build up to it….At any rate, when we hit Woodstock, we found the real deal.
